BOREALIS FESTIVAL POSTPONED TO SUMMER 2023

This has been a very uncertain few years for all of us music lovers. The Covid crisis affected all areas of life, and changed the festival landscape in ways that continue to unfold.

Regulations from government and health authorities resulted in us not being able to safely return Borealis Festival until the summer of 2023.

There was obviously much debate on the subject of when large events would be safe again, but between the concerns over provincial regulation of large events as well as concerns over international artist travel and the safety of our guests, we are confident the decision to hold off till 2023 was the right one.

This is a grassroots event and unfortunately the rate of the Alberta reopening did not allow the appropriate time to execute for our guests the high quality event we had hoped to bring them in 2022.

We were very hopeful during the brief reopening in summer 2021 that 2022 would be safe to resume operations, but then the province went back into shutdown and did not come out of it until it was too late to safely plan a 2022 event. This led to the decision to carry on the postponement until 2023.

We apologize for any gaps in communication. Although we have tried to respond to direct communications we have not had staff in the interim to monitor various platforms, however we are now beginning to ramp up slowly for 2023!

We understand the inconvenience and deeply understand the value our guests place on the experience so we want to assure all of our guests that ALL FESTIVAL PASSES for 2020 WILL BE HONOURED in 2023.

All reserved campsites, vehicle passes, and pre-party tickets were refunded by May 31 2020.

Special thanks to all staff, volunteers, musicians, artists, and performers for bearing with us - you are the lifeblood of the festival and we understand the disappointment. We will be reaching out to our teams soon to discuss plans for 2023.
