Borys

Through modular synthesis Borys explores the darker corners of the dance floor. Hailing from Amiskwaciy (Edmonton Alberta) on Treaty 6 territory. Borys is strongly influenced by the effects of colonilization and segregation on the indegenous people of Turtle Island, this has become a driving theme throughout his live sets. Over the last few years Borys has done multiple tours of Europe, North America and Mexico with Junior Boys, Jessy Lanza & Egyptrixx. As well as supporting Drew McDowell, Severed Heads, Caribou,Powell, Russel Haswell, Merzebow, Varg, Thor, KEN mode, Pallbearer, Gost, Melt Banana, CEX, Humans and many others. Highlight aktions took place at such revered venues as Berghain in Berlin, Webster Hall in NYC, the Garage in London, Gewölbe in Koln, The Metro in Chicago and Vega in Copenhagen.

A lover of collaboration, Borys has relased tracks with Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys) on U.K. labels Hyperdub and Jiaolong. Gesafellstein released his remix of the Greenspan/Borys track "Gold Told Me To" for his I love Techno compilation. A collaboration between Nik 7 of Shout Out Out Out Out and Borys called Muchias saw a 12" release on Normals Welcome. In 2017 Tactus Tempus was released on Geej Recordings. This release saw a group collaboration between synthesizer fanatics Borys, Dan Snaith & Ryan Smith(Caribou), Jas Shaw ( Simian Mobile Disco), Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and Sam Shepard (Floating Points). Borys is also a member of the group néhiyawak, an experimental band from Amiskwaciy on the Arts & Crafts label.
